Atlanta Falcons head coach Mike Smith was fined $15,000 by the NFL for his role in a sideline altercation.

Two Washington Redskins players and Atlanta Falcons head coach Mike Smith were fined for their roles in an altercation in last Sunday’s game between the two clubs, reports ESPN.

Smith was fined $15,000, while Redskins defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth was fined $5,000 and Redskins safety LaRon Ladry was fined $7,500.

Haynesworth was fined for coming to the defense of teammate DeAngelo Hall on Atlanta’s sideline while Landry was fined for a late hit on Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan. Player fines collected by the NFL go towards the NFL Players Association's Players Assistance Trust and other charitable causes.
