'New Moon' Star Compares Script to Novel
Over at the MTV Movies Blog, fans got a chance to ask questions about the sequel to Stephanie Meyer's vampire love-story, New Moon. MTV picked one and decided to throw it at the cast:
Which scene came out better in the Nov. 20 film than it was written in the novel?
Initial responses were understandably tight-lipped. Answering such a question truthfully could potentially step on Meyer's toes. Kristen Stewart stuck with this mentality while Robert Pattinson gave in a little the more MTV probed.
"There are some difficult bits," the actor, who plays Edward, told MTV. "The breakup scene was a lot longer in the book, and it's a very subtle scene. I mean, it's such a weird line which Edward's walking and how Bella's reacting to him. And in the script, as well, it was very well-distilled."
He went on to explain that they work well in both the New Moon movie and novel, but the latter goes in to more depth while the former allows audiences to get the same message but in a more succinct manner.
New Moon opens next week.
