MTV Takes a Bite Out of "New Moon"
The end all and be all of everything teen these days, has to be MTV, which used to play music videos and was noted for its original and revolutionary programming. Now MTV has become a drain on the teenage intellect with dull and often pretentious shows like "My Super Sweet Sixteen", and "The Hills."
Another noteworthy attempt by MTV to keep up with everything in the spotlight is jumping on the bandwagon of someone else's talent seeing as their writers do not have any. The latest victim is the "Twilight" franchise, whose first movie (same title) in the series swept this years movie awards. Since they saw what a frenzy this series was going to cause they decided to add their own take on the second film in the series, "New Moon."
MTV will be releasing two primetime specials next Monday to promote the film which opens worldwide next Friday. The first special will be at 10 pm and play for half an hour then followed by another special at 10:30.
According to MTV.com, "MTV will air "Love Bites," an exclusive half-hour special examining the lives, love and literature fueling Hollywood's current obsession with "Twilight" stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. In case that isn't enough of an Edward and Bella blowout, we'll be following that show with "New Moon Revealed" at 10:30 p.m. Hosted by our own reporter Kim Stolz, the show will explore the "Twilight" phenomenon while answering the fans' most burning questions."
