"Wherever I lay my head is Hole. It's four letters. It is one of the best band names in f**king history, if I do say so myself. For a while I was a little embarrassed it was maybe vulgar, but at least it's not phallic. It's H-O-L-E, it's a great band name, and it's mine."

Courtney Love is resurfacing, having been away from music since the 2004 release of "America's Sweetheart," a disappointing record that absorbed the state of her life at the time. When she wasn't being shuffled back and forth from drug rehab, Love was battling Virgin who was looking to recoup the $20 million they shelled out as quickly as possible.

"Nobody's Daughter" is "more important than any record I've ever made, by far," Love tells Rolling Stone, and has been in the making since 2005. The singer wrote songs during court ordered stints in rehab and saw several producer hands touch the record over the years including Billy Corgan and Linda Perry finally settling on the co-production team of Micko Larkin and Michael Beinhorn for the final product.

Channeling David Bowie's "Diamond Dogs," the "good side" of Pink Floyd's "The Wall," and Eighties Goth, "Nobody's Daughter" features the ballad "Honey" and the blues-and-punk cocktail "Skinny Little Bitch."

"There's a lot of maternal instinct on there, and probably my favorite lyric is: ‘Nobody's daughter, she never was, she never will be beholden to anyone. She cannot kill. You don't understand how evil we really are.' I don't even know what that really means, but I know it's something to do with my daughter and it's also to do with me."

The album is scheduled for early 2010 release.
