Mariah Carey Lands Successful Comeback

Carey leads Billboard Hot 100 chart for 2005
It’s official, songstress Mariah Carey can finally rest easy. Her comeback to pop music is a success, landing her the most successful single yet of 2005 with “We Belong Together.” The song has stayed on top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart for 10 straight weeks and the Hot R&B/ Hip-Hop Songs chart for 11 weeks. It also currently tops the Ringtones chart for the second straight week.
Carey’s repeat success seemed unlikely after her radical behavior and mental breakdown due to exhaustion in August 2001 after a publicity tour for her album and movie flop both by the name of “Glitter.” Carey has since bounced back with a highly popular album, single and new glamorous image, landing her back in the media spotlight.
