Yet Another Suicide Bombing in Pakistan Occurs Saturday, Killing 11
Authorities in Peshawar, Pakistan are reporting that yet another suicide bombing has occurred in the region on Saturday morning. The attack correlated with the recent pattern that has been formed by militants of targeting police checkpoint since a suicide bomber set off explosives in his car while waiting in a line of vehicles at a Pushta Khara security checkpoint.
VOANews.com is reporting that 11 people were killed in the suicide bombing, including three children and two police officers. The detonation of the explosives wounded upwards of 20 other people and a plethora of vehicles were obliterated. Militants have implemented their vicious strategy in response to the offensive attack that the Pakistan army has taken towards the Taliban in regions bordering Afghanistan, according to VOANews.com.
The militants have specifically targeted symbols of Pakistani military power, as well as highly populated areas to strike fear into innocent civilians. Their most recent attacks have resulted in the deaths of women and children and their main intention is to minimize civilian confidence in Pakistan's military efforts to discourage further action against the Taliban.Saturday morning's suicide attack comes just one day after a separate militant explosion killed 13 and injured 60 others in Peshawar, Pakistan on Friday.
