Celebrities Commemorate the Life of the Late MTV Host Ken Ober
MTV.com unveiled breaking news on Monday that comedian and television host Ken Ober, who was the longtime host of their "Remote Control" comedy game show, died on Monday due to unknown causes. According to The Los Angeles Times, Ober's passing was confirmed by Lee Kernis, a representative from the Brillstein Entertainment Partners agency that represented the late comedian. Ober's close friends informed Kernis that he had been experiencing severe flu-like symptoms and an excruciating headache on Saturday, which prevented him from meeting them as planned.
Celebrities and friends of Ober, who was widely respected within the industry, have come forward to release statements in honor of his existence. MTV's "Remote Control" comedy game show helped to launch the careers of comedians/actors Adam Sandler and Denis Leary and both celebrities gave statements earlier today to honor the late Ober.
In a brief statement, Sandler described his friend by saying, "Ken Ober was one of the sharpest, quickest, sweetest guys I ever met. He was always a great friend and I will miss him very much." Leary also provided a comment in response to the death of his longtime friend and colleague. An excerpt from his statement reads, "[He was] a smart, fast and hilarious human being who made many of us, including myself, laugh until we cried. He will be remembered always by each of his friends not only for his massive talent but for his true, deep and enduring friendship."
