Jon and Kate Plus Eight - Gymnastics and Baseball
Leah wanted to try gymnastics so Kate decided to put all eight kids in gymnastics. Kate decided to bring the kids to a specialty store. She tells the kids if they are real good, they will get a reward. Cara just hopes it's not another tip to the movies. The family arrives at the store and they first look at leotards for the girls. The kids are squashed into the store because of how small it was. It turned out more difficult because it was the end of gymnastic season. Leah was very excited.
Since the kids were good the family will be eating at Austin's. The kids were excited because they haven't eaten out in a while. The twins get a little upset when they Kate required them to eat vegetables; they haggle for fruit instead. Kate has to hand out the food all by herself, but she thought the process went smoothly. The kids were a little loud and Alexis whined occasionally until she got her food.
The family arrives at the gymnastics stadium and they get changed into their leotards and shorts. Cara and Mady had gymnastics classes when they were younger, but Mady didn't like their instructor so they pulled out. The twins start with jumping jacks. Kate made sure that she needed to make sure the kids were okay. The sextuplets were instructed by Miss Amy.
The twins started their exercises with pencil jumps. The sextuplets did some basic tumbles and jump rope jumps. The kids practice balancing on the balance beam and make kicks. Kate was reminded of the twins back when they were three and was excited to see how happy they all were. The paparazzi were around but they paid security to protect them.
On Jon's turn with the kids, he decided to bring them to a AA baseball game, specifically for the Reading Phillies. Mike Robinson helped coordinate everything for the family. The kids received gloves and Jon got a shirt. Jon thinks the minor league can be more interesting because they can interact with the players. The boys shake hands with players and play with bats. The kids walk into the dugout and Joel wonders whether he gets a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. While getting out, Joel trips on the step and cuts his knee. Jon gets a band-aid and an alcohol wipe. He does his best to wipe Joel quickly and put on the band-aid.
Jon and the kids got popcorn and some food. Jon was convinced that some of the kids were more excited about eating than actually watching the game. Mady, Cara, Aaden, and Joel got to do the first pitch. The other kids stare at the big monitor and scream in excitement. The kids got baseballs as rewards. There was so much food that Collin got a belly ache. The kids get to meet Screwball the mascot. The kids ask interesting questions, wondering if there was someone inside and why Screwball doesn't blink. Jon gets the kids funnel cake.
Alexis interacts with another mascot, Blooper. Collin gets a hug from Blooper. The kids then meet a duck mascot and he signed their bracelets. Jon laughed at the recycling man mascot. Jon was excited seeing that Joel was paying attention at the game. Jon meets with some of the fans and he greets them. He explains to the kids that these people have followed the show for years and to show them a little respect.
