Jon and Kate Plus Eight - Never Before Seen

Snippets of Jon and Kate's lives during the fallout including book tours and dog training.

There were several storylines that occurred during the summer when Jon and Kate were having their marital difficulties.

Passports to Nowhere - There were ideas for the family visit Korea or Australia. The family went to get their passport photos taken at the AAA. The family was given some crayons and paper while they waited for the photos to print out. Kate laughs at Jon's photo and calls it a mugshot. She gets excited as each of the photos developed looking at each of the kids. Kate reminds the family that they aren't allowed to say where they were going because of security issues; she tries her best to quell the kids. Jon and Kate bicker because Jon accidentally says "South Korea" out loud. Jon tells her that he's sorry and walked away from the situation. Kate was beyond herself and in hindsight didn't react that well. In the end they didn't travel because Jon didn't want them to.

Kate takes the Stage Kate went to Raleigh, NC and arrived at a Southern Women's Show in March 2009. She typically does a handful of speaking engagements and likes this one because she gets to interact. She admits that she would only answer questions within reason. One woman asks about diet and exercise. She admits to doing weights in the morning. One question popped up about having more kids, Kate is happy with eight.

Obstacle Course - During Kate's anniversary, Kate was bummed, but decided not to wallow. She decided to create an obstacle course for the kids. She gets the stopwatch and times the kids. Each kid runs the obstacle course and it didn't matter who was the fastest or slowest. Shoka relaxed at the jumping hump.

Book Tour - Kate always wanted to do a book tour and wanted to experience it at least once. She was happy to see so many fans come out and meet her. She couldn't help but smile. Kate laughs because there are many women that have a similar hair cut to her. Kate knows that there is some media scrutiny for her hair. One couple, Chuck and Julie, waited twelve hours to get their book signed. Kate still thinks it's crazy to wait such a long line, but she supports the fans.

Dog Training - Kate hoped to train the dogs in one swoop, but it turned out that there was several trainings. Jon was in charge of the invisible fence. The dogs would be running down the street and neighbors had to bring them back. They had their boundaries set. Kate made an off-hand comment about other people not leaving their boundaries. Jon notes that the dogs quickly learned where they can and cannot go. Jon was mostly in charge of the dogs during that time period. There wasn't training after the one lesson and the dogs just got worse as they grew older.

Soccer and Swimming - Kate mentions that Jon isn't involved in crafts and projects for the kids; she believes Jon just figures out what's around that they could do. The twins complain that soccer is boring. One girl tries to ask Jon for a Popsicle, but Jon is too busy with his cell phones to notice. Kate mentions how the kids tell her that Jon was always on the phone. Kate only uses the phone for business, but Jon calls his friends. There are several fans and Jon meets them by the fence. Kate misses the Jon that would roll around on the floor and play with his kids while she made dinner. The kids complain that they want to swim instead.

Ronald McDonald House Dinner and Ice Cream - In the spring of 2009, Kate and the kids went to serve food. Kate reminds the audience that Kate and Jon stayed in a Ronald McDonald House for two weeks. She recalled how different organizations would cook dinners for them and she wanted to do the same. Kate decided to make a spaghetti with meat, steamed broccoli, and salad. The girls stirred and poured a few of the vegetables. Kate talks on the phone and mentions how Kate and the kids were the ones that helped and Jon didn't. After helping, the family had their one ice cream dinner and went to the Ice Cream Corner in Hershey, PA. She remembers back when Jon would bring the twins there and then go to the hospital with ice cream for Kate. She had the cones up on the top. Mady gave Kate a massage and she's happy to see that she is stressed out. She just wished that it would last forever.
