Browns Pro Bowl KR Josh Cribbs "Fine" After Leaving Field on Stretcher
The Cleveland Browns were trailing the Baltimore Ravens by a score of 16-0 with just a few seconds left on the clock on Monday night but it did not prevent them from running a senseless hook and ladder on the final play of the game. Browns wide receiver and Pro Bowl kick returner Josh Cribbs suffered a hit to the chin by a Ravens defender during the play and appeared to be seriously injured as a result of the hit's impact. Medical personnel removed the facemask from his helmet and immobilized Cribbs on a stretcher as players from both teams dropped to their knees out of respect and certain players opted to pray for his safety.
According to Cleveland.com, Cribbs sent a text message to his agent, J.R. Rickert, at 3:48 A.M. on Tuesday morning to inform him that he was feeling fine. Despite Cribbs' current health status, which appears to be positive after he underwent a variety of tests at a local hospital, Rickert has come forward to announce his displeasure with the franchise for deciding to run the dangerous play in a situation where it was not necessary.
Cribbs' agent commented on his client's unfortunate injury by saying, "I can't even put into words how upset I am at them for leaving him in like that." The team left their Pro Bowl performer in the game despite the fact that they were down by 16 points with just a few seconds left in the game and it is no secret that Cribbs has expressed his desire to have his contract renegotiated.
