Larry Johnson Signed With The Bengals
Former Kansas City running back Larry Johnson has reportedly signed with the Bengals, announced TMZ.
Johnson signed with the Cincinnati Bengals on Tuesday provoking a uproar among a local gay rights group.
On October 26 the running back used gay slur when addressing some reporters and publicly insulted the coach. The NFL player caused controversy among the LGBT community and was highly criticize by the media. After the incident Johnson was prohibited from practicing with the team or participating on any team activities.
Johnson issued a statement on October 27 apologizing for his behavior and regretting his actions.
The runner back was 75 yards away from becoming the Chief's all-time leading rusher when he was suspended.
The Kansas City Chiefs kicked Johnson out of the NFL team on November in wake of the scandal.
Executive Director of Equality Cincinnati, Lesley Jones, said the Bengals acquisition of Johnson is a "slap on the face" to all the hard work they have done for equality rights in Cincinnati.
