Nicolas Cage's Former Business Manager Files Counter-Suit Against the Actor

Samuel J. Levin has reportedly filed a counter-suit against actor Nicolas Cage, who filed a $20 million lawsuit against Levin less than a month ago

Actor Nicolas Cage's recently reported financial demise has led to a finger-pointing war between the economically troubled actor and his former business manager. Less than a month ago, Cage filed a $20 million lawsuit against his former business manager, Samuel J. Levin, due to alleged fraud and inadequate advice that led him down his current path towards a devastating financial collapse.

According to The Associated Press, Levin officially filed a counter-suit against Cage on Tuesday based on his allegations that his services deserved the amount of compensation that he received from Cage between the years of 2001 and 2008 when he was employed by the actor. Other aspects of Levin's counter-suit include a claim that Cage still owes him a total of $129,000 for work that he performed after he was relieved from his position.

Levin reportedly described his former client as a hopelessly compulsive spender who substantially exceeded his budget's limitations against his advice. Cage's attorney, Marty Singer, disputed the claims that were contained in Levin's counter-suit on Tuesday, stating that, "You're a business manager. You need to say no," in reference to Singer.

According to Levin's counter-suit, Cage's former business manager claims that he did everything he possibly could to put an end to his client's self-destructive spending habits, including threatening to cut up his credit cards.
