McCain Defends his Presidential Advisors in Face of Palin Criticism
Throughout her promotional tour that she has embarked on to market the release of her memoirs entitled "Going Rogue: An American Life", former Republican Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin has unleashed a barrage of criticism that has been directed towards top advisors from John McCain's presidential campaign. She has blamed them for many occurrences throughout the presidential campaign, including allegations that they did not properly protect her public image nor did they educate her on international affairs. Current Senator and former Republican Presidential candidate John McCain came forward on Wednesday to support the advisors who have been on the receiving end of harsh criticism from his former running mate. In a telephone statement that Senator McCain provided to Reuters, he stated, "There's been a lot of dust flying around in the last few days and I just wanted to mention that I have the highest regard for Steve Schmidt and Nicolle Wallace and the rest of the team. I appreciated all the hard work and everything they did to help the campaign."Both top advisors that the former Republican Presidential candidate singled out in his statement received the brunt of Sarah Palin's wrath in "Going Rogue: An American Life". According to The Wall Street Journal, Palin only referred to advisor Steve Schmidt by his last name in her memoirs and she painted him out to be her primary villain throughout the presidential campaign.
