Experts Projecting "New Moon" To Bring In $85 Million In Opening Weekend
According to The Hollywood Reporter, film experts are projecting "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" to bring in at least $85 million at box offices nationwide during the film's opening weekend. The highly anticipated release has been the talk of the entertainment media over the past couple of weeks and it is set to open in over 4,000 locations in the United States.
The theatrical release for "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" is Friday, November 20th and online ticketers have confirmed that "New Moon" has generated the most substantial advance sales of any film in the history of the entertainment industry. The film franchise's already massive popularity is expected to skyrocket as a result of the immensely successful promotional campaign that was performed as well as the rising stars of lead actors Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner as well as lead actress Kristen Stewart.
While Twilight is widely regarded as a chick flick' since it undoubtedly caters to the female demographic, Summit Entertainment Distribution Representative Richie Fay commented on the franchise's rapidly expanding audience, saying, "We know who our audience is, and it's basically females of all ages. But some of the TV spots are playing to young males, and we're getting some response to that."
