Officer Dustin Bradshaw of Arkansas suspended for seven days with pay after using a taser on an ‘unruly' 10-year-old girl

Arkansas-based police officer Dustin Bradshaw has been suspended for not having a video camera attached to the taser that he used to subdue an unruly 10-year-old girl who had kicked him in the groin, according to The Associated Press. Vernon McDaniel, the mayor of Ozark, Arkansas, is reportedly seeking an independent investigation in order to determine whether or not Bradshaw's decision to resort to using a stun gun on a 10-year-old girl was warranted and justified.

Ozark police received a phone call from the home of the unidentified 10-year-old girl by the child's mother who panicked because she could not convince her daughter to take a shower. The report that was filed on Bradshaw's behalf indicates that the unidentified 10-year-old girl was verbally abusive towards the police officer as well as violently combative. While controversy will undoubtedly surface as a result of this incident due to the age of the child who was subdued by the taser, the girl's mother reportedly granted officer Bradshaw permission to utilize the stun gun.

The unidentified 10-year-old girl was not injured by the taser and she is currently being held at the Western Arkansas Youth Shelter, which is located in Cecil, Arkansas. Officer Bradshaw's decision to resort to using a taser has been publicly supported by Ozark Police Chief Jim Noggle.
