Sen. John Kerry's Daughter Arrested for DUI

The daughter of former Democratic Presidential candidate John Kerry has been arrested on charges of driving under the influence

Alexandra Kerry, the daughter of former Democratic Presidential candidate and current Senator of Massachusetts John Kerry, was arrested in Hollywood, California on Thursday morning and she has been charged with driving under the influence, according to The Associated Press. Los Angeles police sergeant Enrique Mendoza provided a brief comment about the incident, stating, "She was stopped by officers for a DUI investigation. She was brought to the Hollywood station where she was booked. She identified herself as Senator Kerry's daughter."

Another official from the Los Angeles Police Department, officer Bruce Borihanh, has clarified that Alexandra Kerry was booked at the police station at around midnight on Thursday morning and that she was released from jail at 5:25 A.M. local time after she managed to post bail, which had been set at $5,000.

According to People.com, a court date has been scheduled for December 10th. Alexandra Kerry is reportedly a director, producer and actor who has been featured in a variety of minor acting roles and has produced multiple documentaries.

Comment has not been provided in response to her arrest from her agent or from her father, according to The Associated Press. Senator Kerry ran for President during the 2004 elections when he was defeated by incumbent U.S. President George W. Bush.
