Kate Moss Criticized for Skinny Comment
Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels, Kate Moss said in an interview with fashion web site WWD, and that is the quote that has been causing quite the controversy.
Many eating disorder experts have been criticizing Moss because they believe her quote is encouraging girls to stop eating. Mary George, a spokesperson of eating-disorder charity Beat, says that Moss's words were regrettable, and that it is statements like those that make it harder for young people already battling an eating disorder.
Moss, 35, is known for her slender looks, she started the trend of super-skinny models in the 1990s. Storm , her modeling agency, reported that her comment was misinterpreted and taken out of a longer quote and placed on the website out of context.
In a statement by Storm it was said "Kate does not support this as a lifestyle choice."
