Martha Stewart Talks About $1 Billion Spent On Prison Charges
Martha Stewart said in an interview her jail sentence cost her more than $1 billion, reported People magazine.
Stewart said humanity was what really suffered as she made payments to pay off her debt. On the interview with NBC's Nightline, Stewart said she kept thinking about all the things that could have been done for humanity with the large sum of money.
In 2004 Stewart was sent to a minimum security women's prison for lying to authorities about the 2001 stock sale of ImClone System Inc.
Stewart told Nightlife even though the experience was humiliating she regretted most losing all the money that could have gone to a better cause.
Recently the 68-year-old made an appearance on the show with Rachel Ray, television cooking show host and author whom Stewart dismissed as an entertainer more than a cook.
The Nightlife interview with Stewart is set to air Thursday night on NBC.
