Chris Brown On His Best Behavior
After his attack on singer Rihanna, Chris Brown has been on his best behavior, receiving an "extremely favorable" report from a Los Angeles judge during a progress hearing.
Unless you've been living under a rock, you're well aware of the domestic violence between Brown and Rihanna earlier this year. By pleading guilty to the incident, Brown escaped jail-time in exchange for five years probation. This includes 180 days of community labor, a 52-week violence prevention class, and an order to stay at least 100 yards away from Rihanna for the next five years.
Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg listened to the update given by Brown and his attorney, Mark Geragos, on Thursday. Brown has so far completed 100 hours of community service in Richmond, Virginia. Multiple videos can be seen on YouTube of Brown picking up trash alongside state highways with a smile and seemingly high spirits. In addition, he has yet to violate any of his probationary terms and has completed seven of the prescribed domestic-violence classes.
Of course, this is only month 3 of 60. If Brown screws up (again), his next concert could very well be behind bars with all his fans wearing striped uniforms. The next check in with Judge Schnegg will take place on Thursday, February 18, 2010.
In the meantime, Brown hasn't let a near-tarnished image stand in the way of making music and pushing along his career, shown by his current Fan Appreciation tour.
