SI polls college football fans
Congratulations are in order for the SEC, West Virginia fans, and Ole Miss tailgaters.
What do these three have in common? They are all winners of various titles in SI.com's recent survey of college football fans around America. Just over 33,000 people participated in the poll.
College football fans have voted the SEC as the strongest conference from top to bottom, while West Virginia fans have been voted the rudest fans in America (the Buckeyes of Ohio St. were a close second) and Ole Miss was voted as the best place to tailgate before a game.
The survey included various questions ranging from, who are the most polite fans (Northwestern), to should alcohol be served at college football games (Yes, but barely), to should college athletes be paid (No).
A majority of fans are also unhappy with the current college football season. The overall consensus was that college football should have a full playoff bracket (60 percent), while only 17 percent prefer the current BCS or old bowl system.
