Who's Protecting the Children Today

Today has been an extremely hard day. My step-grandchildren were taken from school by their Mother. She is on trial for burglary, theft of a firearm and other theft. Her trial has drug on for over a year while the attorneys get rich and two children 8 and 9 are traumatized with fear. They have been so happy and it has taken some doing for them to be normal children.

Social Services' hands were tied even though the 8-year-old girl was allegedly sexually abused by her step-father. But hey, don't think it was a strong enough case to take to trial. She has been seeing a counselor now for months.

The counselor even called the hotline saying the children are in danger and they did nothing but talk to the parents.

But the State Social Worker and Social Worker here, told my daughter and her partner to go to the sheriff's office and take divorce papers and ask for help in getting the children. It is the father's turn to have them regardless of the fact he has had them four months while all this investigation has gone on.

Dec. 9, 2009 there is a court hearing to remove custody of the children from the Mom and give it to the Dad.

Then also, the father is fighting for custody of the chidren to protect them.

The Sheriff's office has bent over backwards to do their job. Social Wokers have worked hard but red tape is preventing them from protecting the children. The Principal did call the Dad as soon as the Mom left the school with them.

I have had everyone I know praying since noon. But all that can be done, is the kids returned to their Dad until Sunday when he will have to take them back to their Mom. The kids do not want this. The girl has nightmares and both kids are scared of their Mother. It's a sad, sad situation.But I have no faith in the judical system with attorneys who can get criminal trials postponed over and over and over again for over a year.

One case we had here, an ex-deputy killed his girlfriend's son by throwing him across the room into a coffee table. It took three years to send him to prison.

Where is justice today? If you are a criminal and kill someone and have the money to hire an attorney, you can get off scot-free. Sad.
