Project Runway Season 6 Episode 14 Recap

The finale. It has arrived! Finally! In the last episode we left Carol Hannah feeling ill. Being only the next morning she is still not feeling well. In the work room Logan is proud of Carol because even in her state she just keeps going. Aw, they are just too cute. Then Carol completely losses it and starts crying. It is really sad. Christopher tries to help but what can you say to, "This is not how it was suppose to happen." Tim comes in and moves the attention to make-up.

Irina wants smoky eye. Althea wants smudged eye. Carol wants soft and pretty.

Tim visits. He likes Irina's all black 13th look. It is beautiful. Althea's black shoulder pad jacket seems a bit square but she keeps it. Shoulder pads? Really? Then she tells him about the make-up. Tim tells her it's just like Irina's make-up and that can be bad. Don't want all the women to look like they came from the same factory. Althea starts crying. Carol is good. The blue one shoulder bow dress is now the focal point of her collection.

Runway day Carol is feeling better. Irina has a zipper break. Irina, Althea and Carol have falling behind. Tim starts freaking out. They should be lining up their models and only 10 percent are ready. Enter Heidi with the welcome speech in a hot pink suit. We are back in New York and it is all on Michael Kors, Nina Garcia, and guest judge Suzy Menkes. She is a fashion editor of the International Herald Tribune.Althea goes first. She was inspired by 50 and 60 sci-fi movies. The first look is leather pants with a beige sweater with sleeves so long there is no way anyone could function. Every piece is either over sized or fitted. There were a few tone downed hammer pants.

Carol Hannah is next. She is feeling better. She is happy and giggly. Her collection is puffy shirts, braided rope accents, and an upside down tutu dress we saw a few episodes ago. Her final gown is gold with accent seams and a ruffled/feathered bottom.

Last is Irina. Her collection is about women shielding themselves from the world. It is black and tan colors. There are big bulky sweaters with hoods or big collars, and horse riding helmets. There is this great gray jacket with interlaced strips that cover the boyfriend t-shirt. Her 13th look is a black mixed material dress with layered strips.

Irina is still shielding New York City women from the world. Michael Kors has seen the warrior women before. Suzy like how coherent the collection is. Heidi says it's dark. Nina asks why all black? Remember Nina's advice was never do an all black collection. Irina says it wasn't a conscious decision. Nina gives a look.

Carol Hannah played with volume and draping. Nina loved the first look, a shiny beige dress with brown accents. Heidi liked the blue, one-shouldered bowed gown. Suzy liked the up turned pyramid dress (upside down tutu). Michael liked the draping. The down side, there was no common thread.

Althea tells them she was thinking about the future. Michael calls the collection sportswear because the collection could be bought in pieces and mesh in a wardrobe. Nina liked the green dress because it gave the collection a splash of color. Suzy thought the knitwear and big shoulders where the future. (Say no to shoulder pads!)

The conclusion, Irina paid attention to accessories, hair, and make-up. She told a story they just wished for some color. Althea knows how to translate street into fashion but she missed the future look she was going for. Carol Hannah had the details; the color, energy and strength but lacked a connective thread.

The Winner is Irina. She starts crying. Her parents come out and even her Dad is crying. Wow. Well, she did prove her ability. Congratulations Irina. You deserve it!Next season will start in January. It seems Project Runway is back in New York.
