Justin Bieber Mall Appearance Interrupted by Police
Justin Bieber, the 15-year old pop sensation, was supposed to appear at a Long Island mall, but police had to shut it down when thousands of young girls showed up and things got out of hand.
Roosevelt Field Mall was home to approximately 3,000 fans on Friday, all waiting for Bieber to perform. The crowd began pushing and shoving, and five people had to go to the hospital with minor injuries.
People starting screaming and chanting his name, and fans began rushing forward. All of this happened two hours before Bieber even was scheduled to show up to perform.
Bieber's record label's vice president, James Roppo, was arrested for not cooperating with the police in attempts to disperse the crowd. Roppo faces charges of multiple misdemeanors, including endangering the welfare of children and obstructing governmental administration.
Once Bieber arrived, he never made it into the mall. Bieber sent a message to his fans saying that the police threatened to arrest him if he did not leave.
