'Terminator: Salvation' Star To Commit A 'Crime'

Sam Worthington, who will topline the upcoming James Cameron-directed science fiction action adventure thriller "Avatar," will star in the film adaptation of the comicbook "Last Days of American Crime."

Sam Worthington, who recently starred opposite Christian Bale in "Terminator: Salvation," will be headed to the future yet again in the science fiction pic entitled "The Last Days of American Crime."

According to an article on Variety.com, "Set in the not-too-distant future, story involves the U.S. government's plans to secretly broadcast a signal that makes it impossible for anyone to knowingly commit unlawful acts."

The motion picture is based on the Rick Remender comicbook of the same name. "Crime" will hit shelves next month in a bi-monthly, three-issue miniseries, which will be illustrated by Greg Tocchini.

Barry Levine, the head of the comicbook's publisher, Radical Publishing, will be producing the film along with director/writer/producer Michael Schwarz.

The Variety.com article then goes to talk about Worthington's other projects, "Worthington is currently shooting the John Madden-helmed remake of ‘The Debt' opposite Helen Mirren. The thesp, who toplines Warner Bros.'s epic ‘Clash of the Titans,' recently dropped out of the GK Films thriller ‘The Tourist' -- in which he would have starred opposite Angelina Jolie -- over creative differences. Johnny Depp is now aboard to star.'"

Besides his role as Marcus Wright in the fourth imstallment in "The Terminator" franchise, "Terminator:Salvation," Worthington's past credits include the 2002 Bruce Willis/Colin Farrell/Terrence Howard war drama "Hart's War" and the 2005 Benjamin Bratt/James Franco war drama "The Great Raid."
