'Cougar Town' Stops Production

ABC puts a pause on Courteney Cox's show during a family emergency.

Production on the ABC comedy, "Cougar Town," has stopped for the time being to accommodate its star, Courteney Cox.

Although the show was picked up for a second season, it was put to a halt due to the fact that Cox had to leave to deal with a personal private matter. There is no word when the show is set to resume filming. The show was set to go on a break for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Cox, 45, plays a woman in her forties who is a single mother on the show. It co-stars Busy Philipps, Christa Miller and Ian Gomez.

There will be three unaired new episodes to air that will keep avid fans satisfied until the show continues production in early 2010.
