Adam Lambert's Sexual Performance Merits Complaints
ABC claims after airing the extremely sexual performance by Adam Lambert last night at the American Music Awards, they have received about 1,500 complaints.
As the season 8 runner-up on "American Idol", Lambert simulated oral sex with a back up dancer of his live on stage last night. He also shared a kiss with a keyboard player and flipped the audience the bird during the closing bit of his performance. All of this was live on television.
Lambert, in an interview said that his intention was not to offend but to "to promote freedom of expression and artistic freedom," Reuters reports.
After the live portion of his performance, ABC cut the most risqué parts of his performance, (The crotch grabbing, oral sex simulating and male on male kiss) out of the show that aired on the west coast. However, it was already online and people had seen the most controversial parts of the performance.
His performance of "For Your Entertainment" is now considered to be one of the most provocative and controversial performances ever, and some even consider it to top the kiss shared between Madonna and Britney Spears at the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards.
