John Mayer and Gerard Butler's Bond
Singer John Mayer bonds with actor Gerard Butler over being labeled womanizers.
In the midst of an interview for the December issue of Details, singer John Mayer had an encounter with actor Gerard Butler at a nearby table. The interview was conducted at L.A.'s star hotspot Chateau Marmont. Mayer, 32, struck up a private conversation that last about 20 minutes. Butler, 40, had been briefly linked to Mayer's ex-girlfriend Jennifer Aniston.
When the Details writer asked Mayer what the talk was about, Mayer said, "We talked about New York . . .We're in a bit of the same position of being branded womanizers."
In the same Details issue, Mayer opens up about the famous women he's dated. "You just never know who's going to come into your life. To my mind, the only thing sicker than saying, 'Wow, you're a famous person and it would do a lot for my career to go out with you,' is to say, 'Wow, you're a famous person and I like you and all, but I can't do that to my career.' I don't think either of those is a good option."
Mayer just released his fourth studio album, "Battle Studies." Butler is known for acting in the movies "300," "P.S. I Love You" and "Law Abiding Citizen."
