Rihanna Celebrates Album Release
After eight months of near seclusion, Rihanna had her first big public celebration on Tuesday night. Actually, make that Wednesday morning.
The 21-year-old singer partied in Manhattan to commemorate the release her new album, "Rated R." Even though the night was all about her, she did not arrive at Juliet's Supper Club until just after 1 a.m, reports MTV News.
Of course, the cameramen waited for the star to arrive. They were eager to capture Rihanna striking a pose in her gold sparkly dress and equally shiny shoes.
Once inside, the singer and friends danced to the beats of DJ D-Nice. Jay Z, Diddy, Fabolous, Tyson Beckford, Rick Ross, and others were there to join in the fun.
Like most great works of music, the party could not come until after much hard work. Sean Garrett, who often collaborates with Rihanna, spoke with MTV about her sincere efforts on this project.
"She was very, very, picky [with this album]," Garrett said. "She was going through a lot, so I think her emotions were leaning to things that were closer to her heart as opposed to closer to the radio, to be real honest. And that's the sign of a real, true artist."
