Google Apologizes To The First Lady

What is being done about the distorted picture of Michelle Obama?

It's been a week that Google's search engine showed an altered picture of Michelle Obama. On Wednesday, the distasteful picture was removed from Google's image searches.

Google banned the web site that posted it, and was concerned about the possibility of a virus. Still, it was found on another web site, and Google allowed it.

However, the photo was seen, again, in Google's image search. This time an apologetic ad banner popped-up.

The ad banner read: "Sometimes Google search results from the Internet can include disturbing content, even from innocuous queries. We assure you that the views expressed by such sites are not in any way endorsed by Google."

It continued to explain. "The beliefs and preferences of those who work at Google, as well as the opinions of the general public, do not determine or impact our search results," it said.

The company believes in the integrity of its search results.
