IRS Filed a $79,064 Tax Lien Against Schwarzenegger
The IRS filed a $79,064 tax lien against Arnold Schwarzenegger, reported the Los Angeles Times.
The Internal Revenue Service filed the lien, which will be attached to all the properties the California governor owns, on May 11. The document obtained by TMZ.com shows Schwarzenegger owes $39,047.20 from 2004 and $40,016.80 from 2005. The documents were obtained from the Los Angeles County recorder's office.
Schwarzenegger's spokesman told reporters the governor had paid all his taxes in full and on time. A Los Angeles County recorder's office official said the lien for the almost $80,000 is still active. The California governor has been under heavy criticism after he claimed he had not received a traffic ticket since he became governor six years ago.
Schwarzenegger had been seen parking his Porsche on a red zone and did not receive a ticket. Following the incident Maria Shriver, his wife, parked without feeding the meter, to buy muffins. The police officer that was going to write her a ticket was stopped by one of her security guards and he backed away.
