France's first lady to star in next Woody Allen film
Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, France's first lady, will be making her silver screen acting debut in renowned director Woody Allen's next film.
According to an article on HollywoodReporter.com, "The former supermodel and wife of President Nicolas Sarkozy says she's agreed to be in the famed director's next film, but doesn't know what role he has in store for her and admits she could be a terrible actress."
Bruni-Sarkozy, who is also a singer/songwriter, discussed Allen's offer during an interview on Canal Plus television, a French premium pay television channel that was launched in 1984. At that time, she also performed a duet with famed American composer/pianist/crooner Harry Connick, Jr.
The 42-year old Italian-born first lady said, "Yes," to Allen's proposition despite the fact that he would not divulge what part she would play in the movie.
The HollywoodReporter.com article goes on to say, "The bespectacled cinematic legend asked Bruni-Sarkozy not to make another film before his."
"If this ever comes about, it'll be a great experience," she said.
Bruni-Sarkozy also has a son from a relationship before the French president and expounds on how she doesn't miss a moment of what life has to offer, "I'd like to -- you know -- when I'm a grandmother, to have done a Woody Allen film," she said. "I cannot in my life miss an opportunity like this."
