Kevin Pollak to host Fox's 'Genius'
Actor/comedian Kevin Pollak has been chosen to host a new Fox kid-geared game show entitled "Our Little Genius."
According to an article on Variety.com, "The actor and comedian will serve as host for the upcoming Mark Burnett game show, which gives child prodigies the chance to prove their knowledge and win money for their families."
"I've been a fan of Kevin Pollak's work for many years," Burnett said. "His incredible humor, intelligence and quick wit are all perfect additions to an incredibly dynamic format. He instinctively knows when to add seriousness and when to add humor. I am so glad he has joined the our team."
As for Pollak's acting resume, he has co-starred alongside a number of Hollywood heavyweights and has been in a slew of critically acclaimed films. He co-starred opposite Tom Cruise/Demi Moore/Kevin Bacon/Jack Nicholson in the 1992 Rob Reiner-directed thriller "A Few Good Men," he joined Stephen Baldwin/Gabriel Byrne/Benicio Del Toro/Chazz Palminteri/Kevin Spacey in the popular 1995 crime thriller "The Usual Suspects," he showed his more humorous acting ability playing opposite Bruce Willis/Matthew Perry/Amanda Peet/Natasha Henstridge in 2000's "The Whole Nine Yards" and its 2004 sequel "The Whole Ten Yards."
"Genius" will premiere on Jan. 13 and will air regularly on Tuesday nights. It will take over the time slot previously occupied by Fox/Burnett's other successful game show "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader," which will enter syndication and will be hosted by another funnyman, stand-up comedian Jeff Foxworthy.
