The Harvard Lampoon Honors Peaches

Harvard magazine inducts Peaches during their Annual Canadian Synthpunk/Glam Rock Awards dinner.

The fraternity of Lampoon, Harvard's oldest comedy publication founded in 1876, is showing some bulge. The Lampoon staff will be inducting the mentally engaging and sexually challenging Peaches into their honorary fold when they celebrate with her on December 7th at their Annual Canadian Synthpunk/Glam Rock Awards Dinner.

Who knew such a specialized award existed? Annually? In Boston? Those crazy Lampooners. Understandably huge admirers of her career, they certainly have an eye for talent albeit slow to recognize it. Peaches, born, Merrill Nisker, has been mauling audiences with the lyrical assault and breadth of a long shoreman, breaking from societal views on gender roles and expectations for almost a decade. Her no holds barred albums like "Fatherfucker," "Impeach My Bush," and "The Teaches of Peaches" were pure piss, vinegar and malt liqueur.

Her daring and unforgiving performances broke ground for many of today's well-known femme fatales, hello Pink and Lady Gaga, who owe a great debt of thanks to Peaches. She's had her freak on before it became chic. Thankfully, Peaches latest album, "I Feel Cream" has gained a wider audience which now leads her to the Ivy League steps where the event kicks off with a public karaoke party. This will be followed with a private induction ceremony inside the Castle. Who wouldn't want to be a fly on that wall. Imagine Peaches wearing her strap on in one of the most prestigious schools our great nation has to offer. The alma mater of Presidents Roosevelt, Kennedy and Obama. Then again, this could be a case of been there, done that.

Peaches records many of her auspicious occasions and promises to film the event and update her website for fans who cannot attend so no one will miss an eye or any other popping thing. Peaches joins the ranks of other distinguished Harvard members Lampoon has bestowed an honorary title to including, Bill Cosby, Robin Williams, John Stewart and James Brown.
