Media Battle to Speak With Tiger
With a fourth possible mistress in the Tiger Woods scandal, everyone is wondering when the golf star is going to talk. The next question that comes to mind: Who will he spill to?
HBO Sports wanted to be the one to land an interview with Woods, reports USA Today. Unfortunately, they were denied, according to spokesman Ray Stallone.
ESPN and the Golf Channel are also vying to get to Woods first.
"As you would expect in a situation like this, we are pursuing it through all avenues," ESPN spokesman Josh Krulewitz said.
The Golf Channel has not yet received a response from Woods, but would of course like to speak with the biggest name in golf.
"Regardless of recent events, we're always looking for opportunities to talk with Tiger," Golf Channel spokesman Dan Higgins said.
Of course, in light of the recent scandals, more than just sports-focused shows are yearning for the chance to have Woods on their show.
Don Halcombe, the spokesman for "The Oprah Winfrey Show," said that they had sought an interview. However, he denied reports that Oprah herself had telephoned Woods.
As of now, Woods has still only communicated through his website. On Sunday, he issued a statement concerning his absence at the tournament that benefited the Tiger Woods Foundation.
"I am sincerely sorry I was unable to fulfill my duties as host and player in this important event," he said.
