Desperate Housewives Star Engaged

Marcia Cross, who plays Brie Van de Kamp on ABC's hit series Desperate Housewives is engaged to stockbroker Tom Mahoney. The two started dating about six months ago. They got engaged last weekend. This will be the first marriage for both.

Cross' relationship with Mahoney became public amid rumors that she was gay. In February, a gay gossip forum had said that, according to a source at ABC, one of the stars of the show was going to announce she was gay to gay magazine The Advocate around the time of May sweeps. Cross was speculated to be the star that was making the announcement.

Cross previously played Dr. Kimberly Shaw on Melrose Place. She is currently nominated for a Best Actress Emmy for her role on Desperate Housewives.
