Brad Pitt's Production Company is Developing 'Dracula' Film
Brad Pitt's production company is developing a "Dracula" remake, announced The Hollywood Reporter.
Along with Summit Entertainment, the production company behind the hit movie series "Twilight," Pitt's production company, Plan B, is working on the film "Vlad."
As opposed to the "Twilight" series, "Vlad" will not be based on romance, but rather it will be more action-oriented.
The film focuses on the young prince, Vlad the Impaler, on whom the Dracula myth was created.
According to legend, Vlad killed from 40,000 to 100,000 people and received the name "Vlad the Impaler" for the cruel methods of killing he used.
Summit Entertainment had picked up the script by Charlie Hunnam, and had been developing it quietly.
The studio is in talks with music video director Anthony Mandler for his possible debut directing a feature film.
Mandler had recently worked with the Killers, Eminem and Rihanna, with her videos "Wait your turn" and "Russian Roulette."
