Good Morning America Gets A New Co-Host
George Stephanopoulos has accepted the offer to be the new co-host of ABC's morning show
ABC will formally announce on Thursday that George Stephanopoulos will succeed Diane Sawyer on "Good Morning America." Sawyer will be the new host of "World News."
Another change to "Good Morning America" is that journalist JuJu Chang will take over Chris Cuomo's spot as a news anchor.
Cuomo's future with ABC remains unknown. There are talks about him moving to "20/20," but he has not received a firm offer yet.
Stephanopoulos had a few requests for ABC before taking over Sawyer's spot. He wanted "Good Morning America" to report with a harder news focus, and once that was settled Stephanopoulos and his family made plans to move to New York.
"Good Morning America" airs daily on ABC at 7:00 a.m.
