Lil' Kim Won't Let Prison Hold Her Down
Rapper Lil' Kim began her three hundred and sixty-six day prison sentence yesterday at the Federal Detention Center in Philadelphia, PA. The rapper, whose real name is Kimberly Jones, was sent to prison for three counts of perjury and conspiring to lie to a grand jury about a shooting that occurred in 2001 outside New York radio station Hot 97. The shooting involved members of her entourage and that of her rival and fellow rapper Foxy Brown.
Prior to arriving at the detention center, Lil' Kim did all she could to promote herself and stay in the public eye even while she is in prison. She made a variety of appearances and shot three videos for her upcoming album release. There's even a chance that she'll star in a reality show since cameras followed her on her days leading up to prison. Her latest album Naked Truth will hit stores on Sept. 27.
