Schwarzenegger Tries to Terminate Paparazzi Problem
1-Oct-2005
Written by: Michelle Vaccaro

The California Governor signs a bill that will try to stop paparazzi related injuries.

California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger signed a bill which will stop the paparazzi from causing injury in pursuit of a photo. The bill triples the damages celebrities can claim and will cause the paparazzi to lose money from their photographs if a lawsuit is filed. The paparazzi would lose any profit on the pictures that were taken during the time of the incident. California Assemblywoman Cindy Montanez created the bill which she hopes will stop the dangerous actions of photographers doing whatever they can to get a picture of a celebrity. The California Newspaper Publisher’s Association opposes the bill because it will treat journalists more harshly than other people, making it unconstitutional.
