Ciara's Got the Vibe

The 2005 Vibe Award nominations were announced today. Ciara leads the pack with five nominations including Artist of the Year and Vibe Vixen. Mariah Carey, 50 Cent, Kanye West, and John Legend have four nominations each and will go up against Ciara for the Artist of the Year Award. Best Rapper, Vibe Vixen, and VStyle are three three new categories added to this year's show. 50 Cent, Kanye West, The Game, and T.I. are nominated in the new Best Rapper category. Clothing lines AIX Armani Exchange, Baby Phat, Just Cavalli, Sean John and Rocawear are hoping that they have what it takes to get the Vstyle award. Other categories include Coolest Collabo, Club Banger, Street Anthem, Hottest Hook, and Power Broker of the Year.

Music released between October 2004 and September 2005 is eligible for an award. During last year's show, rapper Dr. Dre was punched and a fight broke out.

The 2005 Vibe Awards will be taped on November 12 in Los Angeles and will air on November 15 at 8:00 P.M. on UPN.
