Marijuana Helps Etheridge
Melissa Etheridge tells Dateline that she used medical marijuana while recovering from cancer.
Singer Melissa Etheridge told Dateline NBC that she used medical marijuana to help subside the pain of chemotherapy. Medical marijuana is legal in ten states including California. Etheridge was diagnosed with breast cancer last October. After chemotherapy and a lumpectomy, she is now cancer-free and coming back onto the music scene. The "Come to My Window" singer recently released a greatest hits album entitled The Road Less Traveled. The album features a new single, "I Run for Life," about her struggles with the disease.
Etheridge discusses her battle with breast cancer and marijuana use on NBC's Dateline which will air on Sunday at 7PM EST.
