Billboard Honors Tom Petty
Tom Petty will receive the Century Award at the Billboard Music Awards.
Rocker Tom Petty is going to be recognized for his influence on the music world at the Billboard Music Awards in December. The 54-year-old musician will be presented with Billboard's highest honor, the Century Award. Petty presented the first Century Award to George Harrison in 1992. The four time Grammy award winner is entering his 30th year in the music industry. Petty just wrapped a North American tour and has four songs on Cameron Crowe's latest film, Elizabethtown. His third solo album, Highway Companion, is set to be released in the spring.
The Billboard Music Awards will air live on FOX from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on December 6.
