Elton John to Wed

Elton John and his partner David Furnish plan to marry on December 21 in England, the first day that gay marriages will be recognized in the country. Starting December 21, the British government will give gay couples the same rights and privileges as heterosexual couples. The 58-year-old "Circle of Life" singer told Attitude magazine that both sets of parents will be the only guests attending the ceremony. There will also be a party following the ceremony at an undetermined location. John and the 43-year-old Canadian born filmmaker met at a dinner party in 1993 and have been together for twelve years. John credits Furnish with helping him overcome drug and alcohol addictions.
