Nick and Jessica's Breakup Predicted?

On October 7th, 2005, a number of suspicious bets on whether or not the marriage between Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey was truly over persuaded Nine.com (www.Nine.com) executives to suspended additional wagers regarding to the couple; though, all existing bets were honored.

Nine.com executives grew uneasy when the majority of wagers that bet on whether Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey's relationship was doomed, originated from the area that Simpson and Lachey currently reside - as well as the hometowns of the couple. A near unanimous amount of these bets were placed on the couple not being together.

"We had an extremely strong suspicion that those betting knew the couple or were in close enough association to either Simpson or Lachey that they had insider information." said Nine.com spokesperson, Jack Abrams. "There was such a high concentration of wagers placed in areas they've resided that we knew it was only a matter of time before they went public with their split. Now that the divorce is public knowledge don't be surprised if you see a line or two on who the ex-couple will be seen with next!"
