George Michael Weds Long Time Partner
1-Dec-2005
Written by: Sydney Leigh Soliz

Geoge Michael gets married

George Michael and partner of nearly ten years, Kenny Goss, have announced their plans to wed in early 2006 in a small private ceremony. The famous British soul and pop singer met Goss, 47, a former flight attendant from Texas, at a restaurant in Los Angeles. On December 21, gay marriages will be legally bound under British law. The new law, known as the Civil Partnership Act, allows gay couples to engage in civil ceremonies and receive the same tax benefits and pensions that straight couples have always enjoyed.

Elton John and his partner, David Furnish will beat Michael and Goss to the altar, however. John told British magazine, "Attitude," that he plans to get married the same day the British law goes into effect. John told the magazine, "It is one of the defining issues of our times and I applaud Britain for embracing the diversity of our society."

Michael and Goss will attend Elton John's ceremony as well.
