Actor Vincent Schiavelli Died

Vincent Schiavelli known for his small characters in popular films passed away from lung cancer.

Actor Vincent Schiavelli passed away Monday morning from lung cancer at the age of 57. He died in his home in Sicily.

He may not have a famous name, but his face is known by many. He had scene-stealing roles in many films throughout his career. In 1997, Vanity Fair magazine named Schiavelli one of America's Best Character Actors. He was known for playing the "Subway Ghost" in 1990's Ghost. He was also Mr. Vargas, the science teacher in Fast Times at Ridgemont High.

Schiavelli was not only an actor, but also a cook. He wrote food articles for magazines and newspapers. He also wrote three cookbooks.
