Raimi: No Small Parts, Only "Wee Men"

Sam Raimi, director of the Evil Dead trilogy and the summer blockbuster hit "Spider-Man," as well as its two sequels, has just signed onto a new project after "Spider-Man 3" hits theatres in 2007: an adaptation of Terry Prachett's young adult book "The Wee Free Men."

The story deals with a 9-year-old farm girl rescuing her brother in a parallel world from an evil fairy queen. To help her on her quest is a group of blue, heavy-drinking wee men about 6 inches each. The script, which will not be completed until Raimi finishes "Spider-Man 3," is being adapted to the screen by Pamela Pettler, who is also writing the script for the film "9," for Focus Pictures and producer Tim Burton.
