David Fincher, director of "Fight Club," is looking to direct a film adaptation of "Torso," a graphic novel written by high-flying comic book scribe Brian Michael Bendis. "Torso" is a story of Treasury Department Agent Elliot Ness (Kevin Costner, of "The Untouchables" fame) after his successful incarceration of Al Capone; Ness begins finding torsos in the river laced with notes, taunting him to find the killer. Ness assembles a team of ex-officers to track down the brutal killer. Author Bendis has since made his claim to fame writing such mainstream comic books as "Ultimate Spider-Man," "Daredevil," and Marvel Comics' latest crossover miniseries, "House of M." Fischer will film "Torso" after finishing "Zodiac" with Jake Gyllenhaal ("Brokeback Mountain"), chronicling a 1970's serial killer, and "Benjamin Button."
