The Johnny Cash biopic "Walk the Line," despite winning Golden Globes for lead stars Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon, failed to make the cut in the Oscar race. The cut of this decade-in-the-making film was a tremendous upset in the Oscar lineup, coupled with the omissions of "King Kong," "Cinderella Man," and "Match Point." Phoenix and Witherspoon are still eligible to win best actor and actress despite the omissions of best director and producer. "I feel like we made the people's movie," said "Line" producer Cathy Konrad to Reuters. "If people going to the movies is a testament to what is a good movie, then I feel like [director] Jim [Mangold] and I won."
