Busta Rhymes: Murder Witness?
In response to the shooting of 29-year-old bodyguard Israel Ramirez, police want to question rapper Busta Rhymes, who may have witnessed the bodyguard's shooting by an unknown assailant. The slaying occurred early Sunday morning outside a Brooklyn warehouse, where Rhymes, along with rappers Missy Elliot and G-Unit members Lloyd Banks and Tony Yayo, planned to shoot a music video for the Rhymes remix "Touch It." According to police statements given to the AP, police believe that Ramirez was shot around 1:30 am, after an argument moved "outside the warehouse" and turned deadly as "an individual took out a gun and fired at least eight times." Ramirez died due to a shot in the chest. This shooting follows a growing trend of unsolved violence against rappers, with Jam Master Jay of Run DMC's fatal shooting in 2002, Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac Shakur's deaths in the late 1990s.
